About Us
Our story began in 1969, when Jim and Rich Dorsett moved to Venice, Florida, following in the footsteps of their father, Frank Dorsett. Frank launched his career in drafting and sign design in London before bringing his talents to the U.S., where he worked for a sign company in Dayton, Ohio. After relocating to Venice, he joined Berlin Signs and later founded his own business—Frank Dorsett Signs—in 1978.
When Jim and Rich graduated from Venice High School, they proudly joined their father, and in 1985, the company became Frank Dorsett and Sons Signs. In 2004, the name was officially changed to Dorsett Signs, Inc., reflecting both the family legacy and Florida’s incorporation requirements.
The sign industry has evolved—from hand-painted lettering to vinyl applications to today’s high-tech graphic printing and lamination. But through it all, one thing has never changed: our commitment to quality craftsmanship, exceptional service, and long-lasting customer relationships.
